SSC JE Syllabus for Electrical

Before 2015 it was easy to crack SSC JE exam. But we have to go thoroughly on SSC JE Syllabus for Electrical now. There are very few seats in the exam so we have to quick and accurate.

Electrical Engineering Syllabus is consists of AC Fundamentals, Measurement and measuring instruments, Electrical Machines, Synchronous Machines, Generation, Transmission, and Distribution etc.

We have discussed already Paper 1 Syllabus. And SSC JE Exam Date, Syllabus, Exam Pattern and Cut off.


Electrical Engineering Paper 2

Basic concepts
  1. Concepts of resistance, inductance, capacitance, and various factors affecting them.
  2. Concepts of current, voltage, power, energy and their units.
  3. Circuit law: Kirchhoff’s law, Simple Circuit solution using network theorems.
  4. Magnetic Circuit: Concepts  of  flux,  MMF,  reluctance,  Different  kinds  of  magnetic  materials,
  5. Magnetic calculations for conductors of different configuration e.g. straight, circular, solenoidal, etc.
  6. Electromagnetic induction, self, and mutual induction.

AC Fundamentals
  1. Instantaneous, peak, R.M.S. and average values of alternating waves,
  2. Representation of sinusoidal waveform,
  3. simple series and parallel AC Circuits consisting of R.L. and C,
  4. Resonance, Tank Circuit.
  5. Poly Phase system – star and delta connection,
  6. 3 phase power,
  7. DC and sinusoidal response of R-Land R-C circuit.

Measurement and measuring instruments
  1. Measurement of power (1 phase and 3 phase, both active and reactive) and energy,
  2. 2 wattmeter method of 3 phase power measurement.
  3. Measurement of frequency and phase angle.
  4. Ammeter and voltmeter (both moving coil and moving iron type),
  5. the extension of range wattmeter, Multimeters, Megger,
  6. Energy meter AC Bridges.
  7. Use of CRO,
  8. Signal Generator, CT, PT, and their uses.
  9. Earth Fault detection.
